Farmington Hills MI Subdivision: Franklin Forest: 48334

Location: North of 13 Mile Rd; East of Middlebelt Rd. (North and East of Northwestern Hwy)
Zip Code: 48334
Entry: Northwestern Hwy
Attaching Subdivisions: None

Franklin Forest is a small Farmington Hills MI subdivision. It is only one street, but it is about one-half mile long. This is a heavily wooded subdivision, and there is not any style that is represented heavily. Instead, this subdivision offers a wide variety of home styles, and many of the homes took creative liberties with its design.

Franklin Fairway is a subdivision that is worth a drive through it. The thick woods and hilly landscape make it picturesque, and many of the homes have a unique, older design and are neat to see.

There are some standard ranch homes.

There are a few ranch homes within Franklin Forest that have a little more creative design.

There are a few newer and older construction colonials that look nice.

There are definitely some colonials within here that will not be seen anywhere else.

There are even a few tri-level homes.

Here are a couple of street views. There are lot of mature trees, and this is definitely a heavily wooded subdivision.

The Franklin Forest subdivision is northeast of Northwestern Highway. It is also north of 13 Mile Road and east of Middlebelt Road. There is only one entrance into this subdivision, and it is from Northwestern Highway.

There are several one-of-a-kind ranches, too.

There are a few newer construction colonials that look nice.

There are also distinctively designed colonials within here, also.

Subdivision: Farmington Heights: 48334

Farmington Hills MI Subdivision: Farmington Heights: 48334

Location: Between South of 14 Mile Rd; East of Orchard Lake Rd (South and West of Northwestern Hwy)
Zip Code: 48334
Entry: Orchard Lake Rd, Northwestern Hwy
Attaching Subdivisions: None

Farmington Heights is a small Farmington Hills MI subdivision. This subdivision sits near a lot of businesses and busy streets, but it all seems to disappear when you ride through this subdivision with all of the trees and the dirt roads.

There are mostly older small ranch homes in this subdivision.

Here are a couple of typical road views within Farmington Heights. It is definitely a way for a person who likes a country setting yet still be so close to so many restaurants and other businesses.

Riding through the Farmington Heights subdivision is almost like entering an older small town. Most of the homes are small older ranches. The newer homes are separated from the road by enough trees that it becomes too tough to take good pictures of them.

The Farmington Heights subdivision is south of 14 Mile Road and east of Orchard Lake Road. It is also south and west of Northwestern Highway. The subdivision is accessible from 12 Mile Road, 13 Mile Road and Orchard Lake Road.

Since this subdivision is attached to Northwestern Highway, there easy access to many of the local major highways (M-10, I-696, and M-39). Plus, it is near a lot of shopping on Orchard Lake Road.

Subdivision: Hickory Oaks: 48334

Farmington Hills MI Subdivision: Hickory Oaks: 48334

Location: Between 12 Mile Rd and Northwestern Hwy (south of 13 Mile Rd); West of Inkster Rd.
Zip Code: 48334
Entry: Inkster Rd, 13 Mile Rd (via Woodcreek-Woodcreek Hills), Northwestern Hwy (via Supervisor's Plat of Wood Creek Farms and Woodcreek)
Attaching Subdivisions: Woodcreek (Woodcreek Hills)

Hickory Oaks is a newer subdivision in Farmington Hills MI. All of the homes are colonial and stately. None of them within the subdivision are anywhere near small, but some of them are larger than others.

There is a long, impressive tree-lined entry drive into this Farmington Hills MI subdivision.

There are many different designs, but they all have the same crisp, new look.

Not This is a small subdivision, but there are more different designs on here than many other larger subdivisions. It is far enough from the major road that the entire subdivision is easy to overlook.

There are a couple of nice overlooks from the side of the road in between houses. (Click on the picture to get a better view.)

The Hickory Oaks subdivision is just north of 12 Mile Road and just south of Northwestern Highway (which happens to be just south of 13 Mile Road), and it is just west of Inkster Road. This is near shopping and restaurants, but it is secluded, still. Since it is so close to Northwestern Highway, there is easy access to many of the local major highways (M-10, I-696, and M-39).

Subdivision: Franklin Knolls: 48334

Farmington Hills MI Subdivision: Franklin Knolls: 48334

Location: South of 14 Mile Rd; North of Northwestern Hwy, West of Middlebelt Rd
Zip Code: 48334
Entry: Middlebelt Rd, 14 Mile Rd, Northwestern Hwy.
Attaching Subdivisions: None

The Franklin Knolls is a medium size subdivision. It is a nice area without being showy. The entire subdivision has larger ranches that were built in the 1950's.

They have four (4) bedrooms and have about 1500 to 2000 square feet. The homes here also have basements.

There are some trees in this Farmington Hills MI subdivision, but this is not considered to be a woodsy subdivision.

These ranches are also very wide. In fact, it was not easy to capture it within a picture frame.

Luckily, the front yards are a little larger than in many of subdivisions created later. The front yards are not like a farm, but they do provide some nice space for the homeowner.

The Franklin Knolls subdivision is just south of 14 Mile Road and Middlebelt Road intersection, and it is north of the Northwestern Highway and Middlebelt Road intersection.

Since Northwestern Highway eventually becomes The Lodge (M-10), it is very convenient to get to Detroit. Since it leads to the mixing bowl of expressway entrances, it is easy to reach the Southfield Freeway (M-39) and I-696, which is a convenient highway to begin your journey to most places within the northern suburbs of Detroit Metro and other places within Michigan.
