Westlake is a medium size Farmington Hills MI subdivision. The south and southwest corner of this subdivision is exclusively brick starter ranch homes. The other portions mix colonials and ranches, and there are more colonials than ranches in these sections. The homes were mostly built in the 1960’s.
There are many ranches within this subdivision, especially in the original Westlake sub (opposed to Westlake No. 2 or Westlake No. 3). There are mostly standard and L-shaped, but there are a couple U-shaped ones, also.
There are several colonials. Not all of the colonial homes are white within this subdivision, but many of them are.

There is a direct entrance into this subdivision from Shiawassee Road. It is also accessible from 10 Mile Road by going through either Hollywood or Stone Creek. It is accessible from Middlebelt Road by going through either Waddell-Wilcox-Rydall Company's Kemberton Park or the Supervisor's Middlebelt and Ten Mile Road Plat No. 1.
